Guida turistica a Modena e Parma

WHO I AM

Giacomo Cacciatore guida turistica ParmaMy name is Giacomo Cacciatore, I was born in Parma and I lived in this wonderful city for over forty years before becoming Modena of adoption by moving me to this beautiful city since 2017.
Despite technical studies and work experience in various fields, from architectural design to tourist receptivity, the humanistic sphere has always characterized my interests, especially in the field of the history of art and archeology. That is why I have graduated from the University of Parma in Archeologic Sciences and at the Alma Mater Studiorum in Bologna in Archeology and Cultures of the Ancient World, with honors.
I have always preferred, in the chain of research in visual arts and archeology, the ultimate communication ring. This is because I believe strongly in the value and protection of cultural goods and I believe that only through an effective dissemination of knowledge we can pass on that sense of beauty and belonging from which it can spring respect and safeguard.
My intent is to present visitors a synthetic, but indispensable, historical-geographic picture of what will be discovered on the tour so that every monument, every find can be captured in its ideological context and in the right timing. At the same time, my goal is to deliver the simplest tools to decode the cultural and artistic stratification of lifelong cities, as are Modena and Parma.
I will be happy to accompany you in your visit by revealing every little secret and enjoying the local gourmet delicacies, all dressed with my welcome smile!
In my experience as an archaeologist I excavated at the Roman Villa (II-VII sec.) Of Aiano-Torraccia di Chiusi (SI) and at the ancient thermal baths of the ancient Cures (I-II sec.) in Sabina (RI ) for the Belgian University of Louven. I have collaborated with the Archaeological Civic Museum of Modena in archival research for the "Modena-Tirana return trip" (Italian excavations in Fascist era in Albania) and in the project of new fruition of the "Novi Ark" Archaeological Park in Modena , confluence in my master thesis. I also contributed to the primary education courses at the Archeological Park and Outdoor Museum of Terramara of Montale (MO).
I am currently involved in the drafting and presentation of archaeological, primary and secondary school and public information dissemination projects.

TEACHING PROJECTS FOR THE SCHOOL

UNDUETRE...ARCHEO!, recently established, it proposes some projects for the promotion and enhancement of the archaeological discipline to classes III, IV and V of primary school and to classes I of secondary school. It is a specialized course designed to integrate the history program and interact with the training plan organized by the teachers. Each project is conducted by archaeologists and modulated through lectures, creative workshops and guided visits to the National Archaeological Museum of Parma. We have tried to focus on the objectives to be achieved and to be able to convey those basic notions of "archaeological source" and "museum" that are the basis of archaeological research. The projects were also designed to create a bridge between theory and real experience: in each teaching proposal a practical example, a manual creativity laboratory, a visit to the Museum will complete the training course.
The titles proposed are:

- Professione Archeologo (Indiana Jones or Sherlock Holmes?)

- Eroi, miti e favole nella ceramica greca (a laboratory for primary school students)

- Tutti al museo! (look at the past to understand the present)

- Parma Romana (history, the city, the inhabitants)

- Sport, giochi e giocattoli nel mondo antico (play to know)
